The musical piece,” I left My Heart in San Francisco” which among other performances helped made Tony Bennett incontestably one of the most revered singer in the world, was conceived lyrically and musically by The composer Douglass Cross and the pianist George Cory in 1953.

The nonagenarian Tony Bennett, was born on August 3, 1926 in Astoria, one of the most affluent neighborhood of Queens, a Boro of the City of New York. Note that Astoria is on the East side boundary of the river of the Manhattan Island.

Astoria is adjacent to long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside. It also houses the eastern portion of the famous Tri-Borough bridge which leads towards the Grand Central Parkway, one of Queens’s major inter-connecting highways.
