A Little romantic story:
“What I really know About First Love”
“I met Dan when I was only 12. He was my brother’s college buddy and would visit him at our house. I looked forward to those visits and would also run to the phone whenever it rang with the hope of hearing Dan’s voice on the other end. I even memorized his phone number and car license plate number.

I often begged my brother to take me with him to visit Dan on the pretext of visiting his girl cousin who lived near him.

Finally my dream come true. We visited Dan and I met his parents. His mother seemed the kind of person I could confide in. So, I whispered to her that I had a crush on Dan. She didn’t laugh, but smiled and gently said, “it’s just a baby crush. It’ll blow over.”

Fast-foreword three decades. I was divorced and had six children. My brother had moved away and once wondered about Dan’s where abouts. I was living in the city where we had all grown up, so I volunteered to find out.

I called Dan’s parents at the number I had memorized so long ago. They told me he had just divorced and gave me his phone number and address which I shared with my brother. Soon there was a three-way correspondence-and Dan and I started dating. This time the attraction was mutual. Dan and I have been married 22 years. First love doesn’t always blow over!

I like reading little and short stories like this one. Hopefully you might find this one fascinating too. If it’s so, have yourself a cool glass of wine on me.

Where were you when he got shot?

The Beatles John Lennon would have been 85 years on December 8, 2025. In 1980, he was shot to death by Mark D. Chapman inside of his apartment building, the famous Dakota erected on 72nd St. and Central Park West in Manhattan, NYC.

John was then only 40 years old. It was a shocking moment when we lerned of that senseless assassination. Listen again John Lennon songing Imagine, [at the end of page] to really appreciate the humanistic vision of that humble man John was.
John Lenon and Yoko Ono.
John a potent member of the Beatles, married Yoko Ono a ‘versatile person of wealthy Japanese parents. It is important to underline that Yoko’s marriage to John was not her first. So, there were a few prior unsuccessful ones. However, we must always remember this, “Love is a wonderful thing”. Sources report the following, “Ono’s marriage to Lennon brought her instant celebrity, the consequences of which were mixed. The couple’s weeklong “bed-ins” (1969) in Amsterdam and Montreal, in which they made their hotel bedroom open to the press in an effort to promote world peace, allowed Ono an unprecedented platform to express herself”. we know that out of their marriage, birthed their son Sean in 1975 whom everyone thinks is adorable, but “when the Beatles disbanded in 1970, she was widely vilified as the supposed instigator of the split”.

Memorials to Lennon and “Imagine” credits
“In the years after Lennon’s death, Ono worked on various memorials for him and oversaw the release of some of his unpublished material. In 2017 the National Music Publishers’ Association announced that it had begun the process of adding Ono as a songwriter on Lennon’s iconic 1971 single “Imagine.” The organization cited a video clip in which Lennon stated that the hopeful track “should be credited as a Lennon-Ono song,” since much of it was from her”. I agree, and I’m among those who today bowing the heads to salute the humanitarian Yoko Hono who is now a nonagenarian.
