Herby Widmaier

“Herbie “Herby” Widmaier, singer, arranger, sound engineer, radio personality, and founder of Radio Métropole, the station that revolutionized radio waves across Haiti. He participated in popularizing jazz and bossa nova in Haiti. His music is easily identifiable by unique beauty and warm sensuality influenced by jazz and bossa nova, yet maintaining his essence of Haitian folkore and the Creole language. One owes Herby along with his father Ricardo for having immortalized Haitian music from the ’50s and ’60s through their recordings.”

Herby sings: fanm peyim [my country’s woman]
